Effective May 2026
Dvorak Practice is a browser-based typing trainer. There is no account system, no user profile, and no server-side store of the text you type. This page describes the small amount of data the site nevertheless touches, who else sees any of it, and what you can do about it.
What we store on your device
The site keeps two small values in your browser's local storage so the experience follows you between visits on the same device:
dvorak.theme— your light / dark / auto preference.dvorak.infinite— whether infinite mode is on.
Clearing your browser's site data removes both. Neither is transmitted to a server.
What the platform sees
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. The hosting platform writes ordinary access logs — request time, requested URL, user-agent string, and originating IP address — for basic operation, capacity planning, and abuse prevention. These logs are governed by Cloudflare's privacy and retention policies.
Advertising
When advertising is enabled, the site uses Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its advertising partners (including, where applicable, the DoubleClick DART cookie) may set or read cookies and similar identifiers on your device to serve and measure ads, including ads based on prior visits to this and other sites.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Google's certified consent management messages should appear before personalized advertising data is collected.
You can manage or opt out of personalized advertising at any time:
- Google Ads Settings — turn personalized ads off across Google services.
- Network Advertising Initiative opt-out — a multi-vendor advertising opt-out for U.S. visitors.
- Your Online Choices — the equivalent opt-out service for European visitors.
- You can also disable third-party cookies in your browser, use private browsing mode, or install a content blocker.
Google's handling of advertising data is described in its advertising policies.
Contact form
The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish humans from automated submissions. Turnstile analyzes signals from your browser without asking you to solve a puzzle and is described in Cloudflare's privacy policy. When you submit the form, your subject, message, and any optional reply address are delivered to the site operator through Cloudflare Email Routing — Cloudflare's own email infrastructure. No third-party email provider receives a copy. Submissions are not stored on this site and are not used for marketing.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, please use the contact form so the message can be removed.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information about you, or to object to certain processing. Because this site does not maintain user accounts or store typed text on its servers, the practical exercise of these rights is mostly handled by the third parties listed above. You can also reach us through the contact form for any request you would like us to act on directly.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes in a material way, the effective date at the top of the page will be updated. Continued use of the site after that date is taken as acknowledgement of the updated terms.
How to reach us
The contact form is the only way to reach the site operator. It is checked regularly.
